Bohemia Interactive added this to ruin illegally downloaded copies of ARMA. Doing so will turn on FADE, an anti-piracy program that will slowly ruin your game by diverting all weapon rounds away from the target, blacking out or fuzzingВ the screen and eventually not allowing any operation what-so-ever. This is very important! Do not try to run ARMAВ 2, ARMAВ 2 Operation Arrowhead or any expansion without inserting the disk even though it WILL run. Simply move the arty to the proper elevation and azimuth and fire. Be sure to select which type of ammo you need based on the range (Close, Medium, Far). Climb into the gunners position on the mortar and scroll your mouse wheel to вЂњUse TEвЂќ. Record the elevation number and time-to-target. Now tap your application key next to R-Ctrl and find вЂњRange Table.вЂќ Open it and find your distance on the chart. Now look for the medium sizedВ distance line (1:50000) and start measuring the distance between the arty and the target. Record the compass azimuth by reading the numbers on the INSIDE ring. Place your cursor over the target and hold J (default) while clicking. (Up/Down to cycle icons.) Now click and drag your map ruler so that the compass is centered on your artillery piece. Mark it by double clicking and leaving a symbol. Start by finding out where your target is on the map. Also grab the range table that fits your mortar/howitzer. First pick up a вЂњmap toolsвЂќ kit form an ACE items crate. One can always use the artillery computer, but for added challenge and fun, try using a range table and map tools.

Find the end of the вЂњTargetвЂќ line and type -mod= with being the name of the mod folder we made. If you are not running OA or CO, you will need to rightВ click on the ARMA 2 icon that you normally open the game with and find вЂњPropertiesвЂќ. It will prompt you to restart before the addon will take effect. Good, now if you have вЂњARMAВ 2 Operation ArrowheadвЂќВ or вЂњCombined OperationsвЂќ, simply run ARMAВ and click on Expansions and enable the addon. When it is finished, open the addonsВ folder and be sure there is not another вЂњaddonsвЂќ folder inside but only files. Click Extract Files and select the addonsВ folder you just created and submit. Now go to the location that you downloaded the addonВ to and right-click on it. Open this folder andВ create another folder called addons. Go to Program Files, Bohemia Interactive, ARMA2, and create a new folder called or whatever you want to call it as long as it has in front of it. When prompted, save it as a WINRARВ file and proceed to download. Scroll to the bottom of itвЂ™s pageВ and click on the desired download.
